G. Love wears many hats, including one that saves lives from malaria!
“We can change the world/In a week or a day/And if you’ve got a problem/Man, I’ll sweep them away/If you find yourself in a world full of trouble/Just call on G. Love/The superhero brother/And I’ll be there”
- Superhero Brother, G. Love & Special Sauce
Staying true to his word, long time friend of Malaria No More and self-described “Hip Hop Blues artist” G. Love put down his guitar and found a new creative outlet to fight malaria… hats! Partnering with Adventurehat.com, the Philadelphia based musician has produced a slick fedora hat inspired by the headwear of another Philly legend, Rocky.
G. Love and Adventurehat.com are generously donating 100% of the profits ($25 of each hat) to MNM to fund mosquito nets and other life-saving interventions in Africa! To get your own life-saving hat, click here.
Well, schools out, the cold weather is done and once again it’s my favorite time of year. I’m down at the Jersey shore just chilling with the fam, enjoying a nice week before we crank it up for Rothbury and Summerfest next weekend. Then it’s on for the rest of the summer. GLaSS will be performing a bunch of festivals until we crank it up for the Jason Mraz tour in July/Aug.
After our stint with Mraz we head out west to do our own tour and hit some dates with DMB awww yeah. At the Gorge in WA, we will do 3 nights there with Dave. The Gorge is definitely one of the best venues in the world. RedRocks and the Gorge- the best spots to play…
Anyways, I’ve been writing a gang of new songs, doing a couple local shows with my new side project Butter and chilling. We are getting ready to release the new G. Love limited edition Rocky fedora. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to http://www.malarianomore.org.
Well its that time of year again Festival season—its my favorite place to play. Where you can get on down in front of lots and lots of people and bust out!
And guess what, you better play good cause everyone is watching. You get to play in front of your peeps and your peers. The festival circuit is an amazing place to meet fellow musicians. I’ve been able to make good friends with bands like Ozomatli, Donavon Frankenreiter, John Butler, The Black Crowes, Galactic, how many others? The list goes on.
And which festivals have I played? You name it- I’ve played them all—Glastonbury, Woodstock 99, the Horde Tour, Lollapalooza, ACL, Phoenix Fest, Motreaux Jazz, North Sea Jazz, Nice Jazz, Lowlands, Park Pop, Pukel Pop, Summerfest, MoeDown, New Orleans Jazz, VooDoo, Wakarusa, Kokua, Summer Haaaaaze… Man, the list goes on.
I can’t wait to see all y’all at Rothbury in a couple weeks. We are gonna throw down for sure- drink lots of water and let’s rock it!
